Safeguarding.

How your funds are protected

All payment execution and electronic money services are provided by our regulated partner institutions, each of which is authorised and supervised by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) or an equivalent regulatory authority.

Each of our partners is required to safeguard client funds in accordance with the Payment Services Regulations 2017 and/or the Electronic Money Regulations 2011. This means that funds held on your behalf are kept separate from the operating funds of the institution — known as safeguarding.

Safeguarding funds

When funds are posted to your account, in line with regulatory requirements, the regulated payments and/or e-money institutions who we work with safeguard your funds. This means that the funds shown in your payment account or e-wallet are held at reputable banks or covered by an insurance policy, and most importantly, are protected for you in the event of our partner institutions', or our, insolvency.

Our partners stop safeguarding your funds when the money has been paid out of your account to your beneficiary's account. If you require a breakdown of the exact amounts of funds you have safeguarded at each of our e-money and/or payments partners at a particular point in time, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Safeguarding in practice

Safeguarded funds are held in dedicated accounts with authorised credit institutions, or covered by an eligible insurance policy or comparable guarantee. In the event of insolvency, safeguarded funds are ring-fenced and would be returned to clients ahead of other creditor claims.

The specific safeguarding arrangements applicable to your account will depend on which partner institution is providing your payment or e-money services. Details are set out in the terms and conditions provided by that institution at the time of onboarding.
